Bird Seed Vault
This squirrel-proof bird feeder is called the Birdseed Vault
It looks a lot like a little Absolute feeder. It also has a weight-activated trapdoor on each side that closes off access to the seed based on weight. (Actually, you can buy it with either one or two doors).
Pro: The weight sensitivity is adjustable, so you can set the trapdoor to close for heaiver birds, if you want.
The lid locks in place, so squirrels cannot remove it themselves (they’re so helpful, aren’t they?)
The lid overhangs the feeder slightly, serving to shelter the bird seed from the elements.
Con: Hmm…not sure I know of one.
