Squirrel Problems?
Maybe you’re trying to solve the wrong problem.

A man goes into a hardware store to buy shingles to re-roof his house.

“Leaky roof?” asks the store employee.

“Yes,” replies the man. “Every time it rains, my basement fills up with water, so I’m replacing the roof.”

“Hmm,” says the salesman. “I’d say the problem isn’t your roof. You probably have water collecting near your foundation and seeping through.”

“Oh, you think so?”

Now, this kind of scenario would probably never occur with your home. Yet this is what most people are doing when they try to keep squirrels out of their bird feeders.

At the first sign of that bushy tail rummaging through the black-oil sunflower seeds, they rush out to buy the first feeder stamped with the magic words “squirrel-proof.”

But often that’s like trying to fix a flooded basement with a new roof. True, roofs keep out water. But if the water isn’t getting in through the top of your house, a new roof won’t solve your problem.

Here’s what I mean.

Every squirrel solution, be it a weight-sensitive spinning feeder like the Droll Yankee Flipper or a squirrel baffle that looks like a lampshade is designed to address a very specific squirrel problem.

If you get the wrong item for your specific problem, you’re just wasting your money.

How many neighbors do you know that tried a few different squirrel-proof feeders or baffles before finding the one that worked for them?

But you don’t have to waste money through trial and error.
