Old Feed Mill Squirrel-Proof Bird Feeder
Yardiac makes an attractive squirrel-proof bird feeder called the Old Feed Mill bird feeder.
If you look at the basic design, you’ll recognize it. It is very similar to the Absolute bird feeder. Both have a metal body and a trap door design that closes off access to the seed when the squirrel puts his weight on the perch.
It’s made of durable powder-coated steel.

Caged Seed Squirrel-Proof Bird Feeder
Yardiac as another visually attractive squirrel-proof bird feeder. It’s called the Caged Seed Squirrel-Proof Bird Feeder. If it sounds and looks familiar, it’s probably because it is almost identical to the Round Caged Nut Feeder.
It’s another variation of the cage around a tube feeder theme.
As with all tube feeders, the bird seed tends to get clumpy around the feeder ports because the seed gets a little damp in rainy weather.
But the oval shape of the cage means that the squirrel will not be able to hang by his feet and reach the seed tray; an excellent feature.

Round Caged Nut Feeder
I’m not quite sure why they call this what they do, but the Round Caged Nut Squirrel-Proof Bird Feeder is truly a unique design. It reminds me a little of the cage from Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome.

The Furstrator
The Furstrator feeder is made by Vari-Craft. (You can always tell a Vari-Craft feeder because it is made out of PVC plastic and is usually white.)
I wonder if someone made a typo and meant to call it the Frustrator instead, but oh well.
This is another variation of the cage-around-a-tube-feeder method of keeping squirrels out. It is visually attractive; I always like the white feeder tube look.
It holds two quarts of bird seed and has six feeding stations.
One advantage (or disadvantage, depending on how you look at it) is that only the smaller birds can fit through the bars of the powder-coated cage. Jays and grackles won’t be able to feed

Bird Seed Vault
This squirrel-proof bird feeder is called the Birdseed Vault
It looks a lot like a little Absolute feeder. It also has a weight-activated trapdoor on each side that closes off access to the seed based on weight. (Actually, you can buy it with either one or two doors).
Pro: The weight sensitivity is adjustable, so you can set the trapdoor to close for heaiver birds, if you want.
The lid locks in place, so squirrels cannot remove it themselves (they’re so helpful, aren’t they?)
The lid overhangs the feeder slightly, serving to shelter the bird seed from the elements.
Con: Hmm…not sure I know of one.
